Our R&Q Walnut is a special buy that we got from Homerwood. With a 5/8 overall thickness, and 9 plies of hardwood core, you can tell this is a high-end hardwood floor.
R&Q lumber is made in a special process where the board is cut at a certain angle to the grain of the wood. The grain will always be vertical in a quartersawn floor, resulting in a distinctive look, as well as a harder floor. Needless to say this is a very expensive process, requiring additional labor and lumber.
Like almost all R&Q floors, this Walnut has a natural finish, so it can show off those beautiful lines!
